We love natural fibres as much as we love hand made, so you will find all our fabrics in some way hand made from either 100% cotton, silk, wool or linen. Why do we love hand made? A piece of handmade fabric is an artwork demonstrating a superior level of skills, which have been learnt and passed within a family from generation to generation; this traditional skill is what keeps a family employed and within which their identity is interwoven; many hours (sometimes weeks or even months), deftness and precision was required; and the final cut piece is slightly unique from every other piece. It is fabric with culture and history interwoven. We love it, and it would be a tragedy to lose it. Our dream for Monsoon Weave is to create a community that loves to support the traditional manufacturers of hand made fabric, without compromising on quality or sophistication.
