Jacquard Print in Red
This lovely 100% Cotton print fabric is an authentic hand block print fabric from India, made by traditional dying and printing methods.
Utilising only NATURAL dyes made from tree barks, flowers and roots, this fabric is also tested for colour fastness, material strength and resistance to shrinkage and wrinkles.
Hand block printing has been a traditional fabric production process within India since the 12th Century. All aspects of the process are delicate and carried out by skilled artists with deftness and precision, with skills that have been passed from generation to generation. In a time when mass-production is the norm, small groups of artisans continue their ancient craft of block printing beautiful and unique fabrics.
SUITABILITY
Similar in weight to a light calico at 130GSM, this fabric is light enough for use as a dressmaking fabric, yet heavy enough for skirts or children's clothing, and also suitable for quilting and as an upholstery fabric.
